Hi! I have an upcoming trip to Disney World in October. It's been a tough year and I want to do something "extra" for my family to surprise them (we already have some nice dinner reservations planned). Any recommendations?

    Hi Gianna!

It sounds like you’ve been through quite a year, and this upcoming Disney trip could be just the magical escape your family needs to reset and create some new memories. Sometimes the most challenging times make us appreciate those special moments even more, and there’s no better place than the Walt Disney World Resort to build new, joyful memories.

Since you’re already planning some lovely dinners, let me suggest a few ways to add some extra pixie dust to your trip.

One of my favorite ways to capture these precious moments is with a Capture Your Moment session. I love this experience, especially at Magic Kingdom with Cinderella’s Castle as your backdrop. These professional photos make for perfect holiday cards, or even a beautiful update to the photos on your living room wall. Every time you look at those pictures, you’ll remember the magic of your family’s adventure.

If you want to make the evening even more spectacular, consider a Happily Ever After Fireworks Cruise. You’ll sail on a private pontoon boat out onto Seven Seas Lagoon, where you’ll have an incredible view of the fireworks lighting up the sky over Magic Kingdom. It’s such a special way to watch the show, away from the crowds, with some snacks and drinks provided on the boat.

For something magical without breaking the bank, I highly recommend heading to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground for the Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long. It’s such a fun, laid-back experience where you can roast marshmallows, sing songs, and of course, see Chip and Dale! For a small fee, you can buy s'mores kits and toast marshmallows by the fire.

And speaking of winding down, don’t forget about the Movies Under the Stars at your resort. Disney resorts offer complimentary outdoor movie screenings in the evenings, and it’s the perfect way to snuggle up with your family at the end of a fun-filled day. Grab some blankets and snacks, and enjoy a Disney classic under the night sky—it’s such a simple, yet magical way to end your day.

If you’re looking for more unique experiences, consider:

Behind-the-Scenes Tours like the Wild Africa Trek at Animal Kingdom for an adventurous family who loves animals.

Take a Carriage Ride at Fort Wilderness, where you can explore the beautiful, rustic side of Disney.

No matter what you choose, it’s the time together that matters most, and I truly believe that these memories will shine bright for you! Here’s to your upcoming adventure being filled with laughter, joy, and all the magic you deserve!
