Welcome back to planDisney, Hailley! I'm so glad to be able to answer your question about my favorite part of a Walt Disney World vacation: the food.
When you're using your
Disney Dining Plan at a
table-service restaurant, three parts of your meal will be covered: an entrée, a dessert, and a beverage of your choice, and yes, that can include an alcoholic beverage for guests 21 and over if you'd like. But here's the fun part: you're not limited to just what the plan covers. If you're looking at the menu and something else catches your eye, like an appetizer or an extra drink, you can absolutely order those items.
The way it works is that your Dining Plan table-service meal will be applied to cover what it normally includes, and then any extras you've chosen will simply be added to your bill. At the end of your meal, your server will bring you a check that reflects both the Dining Plan usage and any additional items you've decided to enjoy. You can then pay for those extras however you'd like!
A lot of guests do this, especially if they want to share an appetizer or order an extra dessert to share. It's a nice way to balance using your meals efficiently while still getting to sample even more of the
amazing food that Disney restaurants are known for. It's easy, flexible, and a great way to customize your dining experience.
Have a magical day, Hailley!
