Hi Kendel and welcome to planDisney! A wise snowman once said, “the hot and the cold are both so intense and when you put them together, it just makes sense.” So, I can see why you’re interested in bringing a backpack cooler on your upcoming
Walt Disney World trip!
The
Walt Disney World Property Rules page states that coolers or backpacks cannot exceed dimensions of 24” x 15” x 18”. Based on the dimensions you stated, you should be able to bring your backpack cooler into the theme parks. However, I do want to add that the rules also state that if you have any loose or dry ice, you’ll want to heed Elsa’s advice and “let it go!” as those are not permitted. Re-usable ice packs are permitted though. Our family used to bring a backpack cooler when our kids were still consuming formula, but these days we rely on insulated water bottles. Don’t forget that you can also purchase water and other cool beverages at many shops and you can also get cups of ice water from select
quick service restaurants. It’s important to stay hydrated during these summer visits!
Speaking of summer visits, did you know that your visit will coincide with
Cool KIDS’ SUMMER? You’ll find some unique experiences at each of the theme parks and at Resort hotels. What’s even better is that if you’re staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, everyone on your reservation will get free admission to one of
the water parks on your check-in day. Now that’s one way to make a big splash on your Disney vacation!
Kendel, here’s hoping you stay cool this summer. If you need any additional information for your upcoming stay, please feel free to
reach out to me and my fellow panelists here at planDisney!
Your pal,
Sean
