William from MD Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

We have an upcoming trip that we booked using free dining promo. It has 8 day park hoppers on reservation that we want to upgrade to annual passes when we arrive. Are there any restrictions and will we still retain free dining for trip after upgrading?

Hiya, William! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney--I'm so glad you found us! Talking about all things food-related at Walt Disney World Resort sounds like a delicious idea, and I'm happy to help add a little extra magic (and a lot of snacks!) to your upcoming summer vacation.

It's hard to resist a Special Offer for a Disney vacation, and a promotion that includes free dining is such a great deal!  The return of Disney dining plans earlier this year was very welcome news. Our family usually chooses the Disney Dining Plan, as we really like to have a Table-Service meal planned during the day to cool off and take a break from park-hopping. The Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan is also a great option that's perfect for families on the go!

How cool that you are planning to make a magical upgrade to become Annual Passholders! I spoke with a Cast Member about making this change to your vacation package. They suggested you upgrade your Park Hopper tickets either in person at Guest Services once you arrive, or by calling the Existing Tickets line. They confirmed that upgrading the tickets to Annual Passes will not affect your free dining benefit, so I hope you bring your appetite!

Speaking of food (as I so often do!), you timed your vacation just right. The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival kicks off on August 29, with all sorts of delicacies inspired by cultures around the world. I definitely recommend planning a day to enjoy the offerings at the Global Marketplaces, and relaxing in the evening at the Eat to the Beat concert series. You can even book a dining package to guarantee priority concert seating!

William, I hope this information is just what you need for your planning purposes, and that you're counting down the days to your arrival at The Most Magical Place on Earth. Thanks again for visiting planDisney, and please stop by anytime if we can help with additional questions!

    See Ya Real Soon!
