Hi Kathryn! Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with your question!
Oh boy! A big summer getaway to the
Most Magical Place on Earth! I come from a large family myself so I understand what it is like to travel and coordinate with such a big group. Walt Disney World is the perfect place to get everyone together since there are countless experiences for each person to enjoy. I have found that the most successful trips with a large group are to plan a couple of activities or dining experiences to do together. The rest of the day you may split into smaller groups to help navigate the parks easier. Some of the group may want to ride all of the thrilling attractions while a few with toddlers in tow may want to check out some of the kid-friendly ones.
It looks like your 60-day window to book
dining reservations is only a few short days away! This is always one of the most exciting times of the planning process. It is also the part that requires the most planning. Certain reservations are harder to come by than others, so you need to know that heading in.
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant is one of them. With its incredible theming, many Guests come for both the ambiance and the food. The seating is one of the most unique designs you will encounter. You are seated in a car facing forward watching various clips of movies on the big screen. Sounds fun, right! Since the seating is set up this way, only groups of four Guests can be seated at one table.
With this being the case, if you make a reservation for 11 people, your party will need to be split up when being seated anyway. You can request during the check-in process to all be seated near each other. This request will be at the discretion of the restaurant depending on availability. It might make more sense to try to book three smaller reservations instead of a larger one. I've found better luck with this strategy over the years!
Kathryn, I hope this information helps you on your dining reservations day. May all the pixie dust fly your way during the booking process!
See ya real soon!
