Hi, Alison!
Welcome to planDisney! Staying at a Disney Deluxe Resort Hotel is always magical, but even more so when you can visit with family. It is so great to hear you will be enjoying some time at
Disney's Wilderness Lodge with your mother. The magnificent lobby is a great place to enjoy some coffee in the morning or wind down with drinks by the grand fireplace in the evening.
Your mother can definitely come see you at the resort. She'll just need to tell the Cast Member at the gate that she is visiting you and possibly your last name so that they are able to confirm that you are a Guest. As a day Guest, she will not be charged a
fee for parking. While she's visiting be sure to show her around the gorgeous grounds, grab a bite to eat and if you're both up for it perhaps take a trip over to the
Tri-Circle-D Ranch over at the Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort.
The ranch is home to over 90 horses including Cinderella's ponies and the horses of Main Street, U.S.A. It offers horseback riding, carriage rides and wagon rides, but I love wandering the property and learning the history including the Dragon Calliope—the horse-drawn musical instrument that Walt Disney purchased for the Mickey Mouse Club Circus Parade at Disneyland Park in the 1950s.
There is so much for you and your mother to enjoy together at
Disney's Wilderness Lodge, I am sure you'll have a great time together. The only caution I offer is that Disney Resort Hotel pools are strictly for Guests of that resort, so unfortunately she won't be able to enjoy that amenity with you.
Have a wonderful vacation, Alison! If there is anything else we can help you with, please let us know. We would love to hear from you!
Magical Wishes,
Lauren
