I have an upcoming stay at Pop Century Resort and have a breakfast reservation at 9:10 am at the Grand Floridian. In order to ensure I make it on time, would it be generally faster to get there via the Animal Kingdom bus or Magic Kingdom bus?

    Hi Jennifer,

Thank you for sending your question to us here at planDisney, we are always happy to help!  It looks like your visit to Walt Disney World Resort will be here shortly, I am sure you are going to make plenty of magical memories!

One of the many things I love about a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is the ease of traveling around Walt Disney World Resort Property, it's so nice not to have to worry about transportation during our vacation.  In the past, when my family and I have visited Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa from Disney's Pop Century Resort, we have always taken the Disney bus to Magic Kingdom Park and then relax on the Monorail from there.  We enjoy taking a trip on the Monorail instead of another bus to quickly get to our meal at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, for us a ride on the Monorail is like another attraction! Recently, a walkway between Magic Kingdom Park and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort  & Spa has opened, giving you a second option once you arrive at Magic Kingdom Park.

Another reason why I prefer this option is that the bus to Magic Kingdom Park from Disney's Pop Century Resort is a direct route to Magic Kingdom Park without any other stops, while sometimes the bus from Disney's Animal Kingdom makes several stops at different Resort Hotels, increasing travel time. Knowing that there is only one stop on the bus makes it easier to navigate travel time and decide at what time we should depart our resort hotel to arrive in time for breakfast.  With taking the bus to Magic Kingdom Park the Monorail departs consistently and the walk time is also minimal, making it easier to gauge your departure time as well.  When taking the bus to Disney's Animal Kingdom, the wait time could be a little unpredictable depending on the bus schedule heading to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

No matter which option you choose, please make sure to allow for up to 180 minutes to travel between your destinations.  While Disney Transportation is convenient and very efficient, at certain times of day it may take a little longer to arrive at your destination.  If you download the My Disney Experience App, you will be able to view the bus times from your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, making it even easier to plan your travel time.

I hope you have a wonderful visit to Walt Disney World Resort, Jennifer.  Please let us know if we can be of further assistance, we are always here to help.
