I have an upcoming reservation at the Disney all star movie resort and I was wondering for this reservation is a credit card needed for incidentals ? Or any resort fee that would require a major credit card ?

Hey Howdy Hey Dominique and welcome to planDisney!

How exciting it is knowing your Magical vacation is just a few weeks away. Soon, you will be immersed in the Magic of Walt Disney World Resort with your stay at Disney's All-Star Movie Resort. Before we get too far into the excitement, let's talk about incidentals and credit cards.

When you check into your hotel, you will be required to put a credit card down for any incidentals that may come up. As for any hidden fees or any charges, there will be nothing extra as your total price and all fees were included in what you saw with the first bill and the deposit requirement. By now, you should also have paid for your full vacation if you booked a vacation package that would include your hotel and park tickets so you should be all set. That being said, there may be a couple of other ways to charge this credit card during your vacation.

Considering you will have to have a credit card on file, this will also be the card to charge if you want to do any room charges. You can pay for things such as dining and merchandise during your vacation with your MagicBand which will be charged to your card. I feel it is more convenient to do this rather than carry my wallet around the parks as this is one less thing I need to be aware of. At the time of check-in, you may see a hold on your credit card which is usually $200 but is subject to change, in the case of any purchases made. If you choose not to do any room charges for meals or merchandise, you should not see any other charges on your card and after your room is cleaned after check-out, the hold should disappear from your card.

One super handy way to get a credit card on file and expedite the check-in process is Direct-to-Room Service on your My Disney Experience app. You can check into your resort, upload your credit card and make any room requests you may need. On the day of check-in, you do not have to stop by the front desk and you will be notified through the app when your room is ready as well as your room number. You can even open your room door with the app on your phone!

I hope this information helped so you know what to expect with the credit card situation. One of the great parts about a Disney vacation is pricing is all upfront and there are no hidden fees you will be surprised about during your vacation.
