Welcome aboard, Stephen!
Seems like you already know of the Disney difference when it comes to customer service - at the parks and especially on the Disney Cruise.
Prepaying for gratuities is very convenient and it also makes sure that you get it included into your vacation budget early.
You are not required to give any additional gratuities during your individual dining experiences at the main restaurants while on your voyage. Your single prepaid gratuity for your Dining Team (Head Server, Main Server & Beverage Server) will cover tips for the whole cruise. Included with those 3 individuals, is the gratuity for your Stateroom Host/Hostess. All 4 of them, are specifically assigned to you and your family for the duration of your cruise. They make such a big difference in making your vacation extra magical and their excellent customer service will show. They are the 4 individuals that are taken into consideration when calculating the suggested tip amount at end of your voyage. When you do visit any of the restaurants, you won't be given tab or a receipt each time... since everything is already included.
Palo, Remy & bar drinks are not included though - so when you dine at the
Adult Exclusive areas, you will get a receipt to sign with an option to leave a tip. If you order from the 24-hour room service, it is also customary to give a tip, but again, not required.
Please let us know if you need any addition information planning for your upcoming cruise. Have a magical day!
