Can I use an unused ticket in my daughters name (who couldn't go) to my son's name?

    Hiya, Kathy!

Welcome to planDisney. It looks like you are putting the finishing touches on your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth this week. We love helping fellow Guests plan their time in the magic, so you've come to the right place!

I'm happy to report that an unused, valid theme park ticket is not officially assigned to a Guest until it is used to scan into a park for the very first time. Even though you may have assigned it during the checkout process while purchasing tickets on the website, your son should not have an issue scanning in with the unused ticket, provided it aligns correctly with his age. In other words, you would not be able to use a child's ticket to scan an adult into the parks. If you have any specific questions about your account, I'd recommend calling Guest Services directly—they will be happy to help you!

The Main Entrance Gates just received a bit of a glow-up, technology-wise. When you approach the gate, have your MagicBand+ or ticket barcode ready to scan directly from the app. You could also use a hard copy printout of the barcode here. Once you scan, you will be asked to take a selfie, which is how your ticket will be assigned to a specific Guest. This photo will pop up every time the ticket is scanned to ensure there is only one Guest using it. As soon as you take the photo, the gate will open and your day in the magic will begin!

I have to say, the energy in the parks right now is so joyful as everyone is Celebrating Happy as part of the 70th Anniversary! If you're like me and sweet treats and specialty snacks are as important as hitting your favorite attraction, I'd recommend taking a look through the 70th Anniversary Foodie Guide on the Disney Parks Blog. You can look through all of the new offerings and earmark some favorites ahead of your visit, both sweet and savory! On my last visit, I got to try the Celebration Matterhorn Macaroon from Jolly Holiday Bakery and Sparkling Peach Punch from Red Rose Taverne, and both were delicious and celebratory!

Kathy, I hope we've paved the way to the magic for you. I know you are in for some unforgettable memories and fun. I'm sending you along with an extra dose of pixie dust for a magical visit! If you have any more questions, you know where to find us here at planDisney.

    See ya real soon!
