I have an unused ticket on my account with my wife's name attached to it. She will be going away for a weekend, and i would like to use her unused ticket. How can I go about changing the name on the ticket?

    Hi Ronald!

Welcome to planDisney! We're so happy that you found us hEAR! I'm Kristen, and I'm happy to assist with this Disneyland Resort planning question and serve as your planEAR today.

Oooooh, I like your style and way of thinking, Ronald! There are so many things that you can see and do and eat at Disneyland Resort, I just know you're going to have a blast doing it all on your own schedule!  This is a great question, and it depends on the type of ticket that your wife has/that you will soon have. If it's a regular Theme Park Admission Ticket, not a special promo like a Military ticket or the SoCal tickets that are meant to be used by those who reside within certain zip codes, AND as long as the ticket is completely unused, then yes, you can claim it as your own. (Assuming it's alright with your wife.)

As long as the above is true, the good news is that you don't actually have to change the name on the ticket; the names are more meant to keep everything organized when a larger group goes together. As long as you don't mind your wife's name popping up when your Disneyland Mobile App notifies you of your Park Pass Reservations or Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane attraction reservations, then you're good to go. (This actually happened to my husband, Kyle, once; a friend gave him a ticket as a gift, but when purchasing she accidentally used her name at checkout. When he redeemed it, he was 'Michelle' all day!) Because this is a new ticket, you'll have your photo taken at the time of first use. I promise that it won't set off any alarms that your face is using her ticket. However, If you do want to change the name on the ticket, this can be done over the phone by calling (714) 781-4636, or in person at the Ticket Booths in The Esplanade area between the two theme parks.

I hope that this helped to clEAR your question up, Ronald! Be sure to follow the official planDisney Instagram account or the brand new planDisney Podcast where we're sharing all kinds of tips and tricks! And if you have any more Disneyland Resort planning questions for us, We're All Ears!
