What a lovely gift to make to your family member. I've got good news for you! Linking a
standard admission ticket to their account is actually quite easy, and you won't need to unlink. Also, with a standard admission ticket, the name on the ticket won't need to match the Guest. Once your family member scans into the parks, the photo taken of them by a friendly Cast Member will identify them with their ticket rather than their name. If you're concerned about the name not matching, you can call the
Tickets phone line, where a helpful Cast Member can assist with the change, but that would only be a personal preference rather than a necessity.
I can walk you through how to link the ticket. They'll simply need to download the
Disneyland mobile app, sign in, and click the three-line menu on the bottom right. This will bring up a series of tiles. Select the "Tickets and Passes" tile and choose "Link Tickets and Passes" from the next screen. Your family member can either manually enter the ID from your e-mail purchase confirmation or scan the barcode. The ticket will then be linked to their app, so they're ready to enjoy the magic. It's that easy!
