Hi Bob,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. It looks like you have a Walt Disney World vacation coming up in just a few weeks, and I hope you’re having so much fun counting down and getting excited to be in The Most Magical Place on Earth!
I have quite the collection of
MagicBands, and while each of them is connected to special memories, there is no need for them all to be active while I’m at home! I recently went on a MagicBand deactivating spree, and I'm happy to share the steps with you. Log in to your
My Disney Experience account, and then select My MagicBands and Cards. You'll see a list of your own MagicBands, as well as any MagicBands you manage, sorted by Guest. Click on the MagicBand you'd like to deactivate (you can match it to the name inside if you've personalized the MagicBand, or by the ID number printed inside the band) and then select the "Inactive" button. Bibbity Bobbity Boo – you're done!
Did you know that you can recycle MagicBands at any Walt Disney World Resort hotel? Once you've deactivated any MagicBands you no longer want, you can bring them to the hotel's front desk and let the Cast Member know you would like to recycle the bands. (I imagine the MagicBand recycling facility to look like the Core Memory storage facility from Inside Out, which explains why I'm hoarding mine to make a MagicBand garland for my Christmas tree.)
Have a blast at Walt Disney World Resort, Bob! Keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for the latest news as you do your last-minute planning, and please come back and see us if you have any more questions.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
