Melody, I did some research on my own account and spoke with Guest Services. While you can modify and cancel your reservation on your own through My Disney Experience, once it is linked, you need someone with a magic wand to do it, as it takes some extra pixie dust on the Disney side.
If you are a
Disney Vacation Club Member and booked your Resort with your Membership, you can call
Member Services to see if they can unlink your reservation from your My Disney Experience account without cancelling it. If someone has gifted you a Disney Vacation Club stay, the Member would need to call Member Services to inquire. If you booked your stay using cash directly at
Walt Disney World Resort, then you can call
Guest Services, which can assist you.
