Ahoy there, Amy. Welcome to planDisney!
I'm sorry we're meeting under the circumstances of you potentially canceling your upcoming Disney Cruise. Believe me, I'm all too familiar with canceling cruises over the past few years, and while it's never easy to decide to cancel, sometimes it just has to be done.
If you have to undertake that decidedly unmagical act. when it comes to the actual act of canceling there is a silver lining: travel agent or otherwise, Disney Cruise Line has recently made a change that allows for
some cruises to be canceled through the website. Previously, all cancelations had to be performed via telephone, so I would check with your travel agent to see if they have this capability!
Regarding your deposit, according to the
UK Terms and Conditions, so long as your travel agent cancels your voyage at least 120 days before your sailing, you should be entitled to a full refund to your original form of payment. Now, this is assuming that you are not booked in a Concierge-level stateroom or suite, in which case a fee in the amount of your deposit would be assessed.
Oh! I nearly forgot: Disney Cruise Line recently extended the relaxed cancellation schedule! For Guests booked in non-Suite and non-Concierge categories on sailings through March 31, 2023, the cancellation fee schedule has been temporarily relaxed to 59 days prior to sailing. seeing as the usual cancellation window without fees started around 119 days, this extension of the "Book with Confidence" policy is incredibly helpful! While this may or may not be extended further to include your cruise dates, I'd still suggest canceling as soon as you are certain you will be unable to travel.
I hope that gives you a bit more time to work with as you look to cancel your cruise, Amy. Thank you so much for sailing my way with your question! If you have any others as you continue your journey, please drop me another line here at planDisney!
Until then, sending a little faith, trust, and pixie dust to help you on your way.
Andrew
