Howdy, Richard and welcome to planDisney!
I'm so excited to see that you'll be staying at
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground on your next Walt Disney World vacation! It is my favorite
Disney Resort and I just know you'll have such a great time next month. I have been camping there since I was a little girl and I love taking my own kids to create new memories at Fort Wilderness. There is nothing better than sleeping under the stars and knowing you're so close to the Disney magic of the theme parks.
It sounds like you're ready to have a full day when you arrive! The Reception Outpost is open 24 hours a day, so you won't have a problem checking in when you arrive in the morning. You can have your luggage stored with
Bell Services until your campsite or cabin is ready. Official pick-up time for golf carts is at 1:00 PM, so you may not be able to pick up your
reserved golf cart when you arrive, but you can certainly check to see if one is available. If not, hop on an internal Fort Wilderness bus and head down to the Settlement Depot to grab a cup of coffee and a bite to eat at
Trails End Restaurant.
One of my favorite things to do at Fort Wilderness is joy ride around the property on a golf cart. It's a "must-do" to rent one each time we stay there. After dark is the best time to drive through the different loops and check out the beautiful decorations and lights that other Guests have set up at their campsites.
Please
stop back by and visit if you have any additional vacation planning questions.
Have a magical day!
