is my understanding correct that there is no stand-by line for Rise of the Resistance that you must have a quque time? also is the it a specific time or a 2 hr time period?

    Hi, John!

Thanks so much for sending us this great question!

You are correct. At this time, Guests who wish to try out the spectacular Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney's Hollywood Studios must do so by joining a Boarding Group after entering the park.

Once this attraction opened, Guests have been so eager to help The Resistance fight The First Order, they have been lining up well before Park Open. Cast Members have been allowing Guests to enter the park about 30 minutes prior to Park Open, but that, of course, is subject to change. Upon entering the park, Guests may proceed as far as Center Stage on Hollywood Boulevard, waiting for Park Open so that they may try to join a Boarding Group for later that day.

To do so, have everyone in your party in the park that morning, and have your My Disney Experience account set up with all of them on your Friends & Family List (just as if you were going to make FastPass+ plans for everyone). At the official Park Open time, refresh your My Disney Experience mobile app, select "Join Boarding Group", and be sure that everyone in your party is selected to join with you. If there is a Boarding Group available to join, hit submit, and you'll be all set.

On that same spot where you were able to join a Boarding Group, the numbers of those Groups that are invited to enter the ride will be posted throughout the day. This will be a range of numbers, and you'll see that range progressing up to the higher numbers as the day continues. As such, you won't have a time to arrive, as with a FastPass, but your Boarding Group will be called as space allows. At the time that your Boarding Group is called, you'll have up to two hours to enter the attraction.

In order to gauge your estimated entrance time, keep an eye on the progression of Boarding Groups. When I visited in December, I noticed that a Boarding Group was added to the end of those invited to enter every five or ten minutes. That gave us plenty of time for a Force-filled tour of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, an All-New Land
