Hi
Carla! Congratulations on securing reservations at
California Grill! You will absolutely LOVE it! Here's the
California Grill Dinner Menu.
The answer to your question will depend on which one of the
Disney Dining Plans you have. For example, the Disney Dining Plan (DDP) includes a non-alcoholic drink, an entrée, and a dessert. Typically the dishes listed under the main course are your options for the entrée. All other sections of the menu at California Grill are considered appetizers, which are
not included on the DDP.
The Disney Deluxe Dining Plan (DDxP) includes a non-alcoholic drink, an appetizer, an entrée, and a dessert. When using the DDxP, you will be able to order your appetizer from most sections of the menu. That includes items listed under Sushi, Flatbreads, and First Course.
Generally speaking the first course of any meal, like the appetizer course, is on the lighter side. This is not to say that the actual food is light, but rather that the food (a pasta, a salad, or even a hearty chowder), are typically smaller portions than those found listed as main course entrees. Keeping that in mind, you may request to have any of the items listed under any of those sections of the menu to count as your main entrée. Such a request may indeed be honored. However, you can't ask to have a main course count as an appetizer. In other words, you can trade down but never up.
Enjoy a most magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
