Hi Crystal,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question!
While MagicBands are pretty amazing little devices, they don’t store information in the way that you’re thinking. MagicBands don’t store a Guest's personal information independently, they only help “point” to certain sections of the My Disney Experience account to which they are linked.
That being said, if you’ll be staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel during your upcoming visit, then the MagicBand that will be assigned to your little guy will also be linked to your Resort reservation, which could help Cast Members identify him.
If you’re worried about him wandering away from you, a child who becomes separated from his or her parents while in any one of the Theme Parks will be escorted by a Cast Member to the
Baby Care Center where they are looked after until their parent(s) arrive. If you have any concerns, please visit the Baby Care Center in the Theme Park that you’ll be visiting in order to have them set your mind at ease.
Finally, I’ve heard that some families have their children wear bracelets with their parents’ mobile phone number listed on it in case of emergency. If you don’t want to have your son wear another bracelet, an option could be to write your telephone number on the outside of his MagicBand in black permanent marker, so that there will be an easy way to contact you in case you’re ever separated.
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
