    i understand there are two lines and two different tracks on space mountain can you tell me what the differences are between them? and is there any chance that thunder mountain railroad will be open during April 28 thru may 4th 2012

    Hi Sheri!!

    Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad are two of my favorite rides at the Magic Kingdom!!!

    The two lines/tracks at Space Mountain are identical.  They are actually mirror images of each other.  A cast member will let you know which side/track to go to once you are about to board your rocket. 

    Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is currently in refurbishment and is slated to reopen on May 27.  There is a slight possibility that it could open a few days early, but I am not quite sure of it opening up 3-4 weeks early.  You could always check when you get to the Magic Kingdom and maybe you will have a little extra pixie dust sprinkled on your trip and it will be open.  Just keep in mind that it is down until May 27.  I just don't want you to be disappointed if it isn't open!
