Ahoy there, Kathleen, and welcome aboard planDisney!
I'd like to answer your question, but it seems I've misplaced my spectacles...that note, you see the one pinned to the door with a dagger, would you mind reading that?
"AVAST, YE SCALAWAGS
If ye be readin' this here letter, ye be warned! We humble pirates be in the waters right at this very moment, savvy? While it be true we're operating with ... let's just say a
skeleton crew ... ye'll still be in our sights for boardin' - assumin' you'll be in our waters for four nights or longer...current operational issues mean vessels we deem to be 'just passin' through' won't be troubled with...this time around.
If ya know what's good for ya, ye'll still be best served to partake in a bit o' the pirate life! If ye be wishin' to blend in with us, that could go a long way to keepin' yerself off the list to walk the plank...
Keep a weather eye fer our colors, and remember...dead men tell no tales...YARRRR!"
So you see, it seems like the pirates themselves have taken the
current guide to updated experiences and made the most of their...shall we say, skills...given the situation! I do know for a fact that many castaways do still take the pirates' advice to blend-in to heart and you'll find plenty of fellow pirates on most sailings!
One of the things I've always loved about the Disney Cruise Line experience is your ability to participate in activities as much or as little as you'd like! Whether you bring an ensemble that would make Captain Barbossa jealous, or simply tie your pirate bandana on, you get to decide just how much of the pirate's life is for you!
As far as which night the pirates tend to board, usually you can count on them the night you call on
Disney Castaway Cay - I think they really like scrounging the leftover food from Cookies BBQ...but be sure to check the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app once you board for information about your specific itinerary!
Thanks again for sailing my way with your question, Kathleen. I hope you have an absolutely incredible time - both with your family on your Disney Cruise Line vacation, and as part of the pirates' crew! Here's to the next month going by quickly for you as you keep planning, and I'll keep a weather eye out for any additional questions you may have...if I can find my glasses. Just drop a message in a bottle for me and send it off to us here at planDisney!
Fair winds, following seas, and, "Yo ho, Yo ho, a pirate's life for me!"
