I understand that with a park hopper, I have to stay in first park until 1pm. After 1pm I can go to second park. If I don’t like second park can I go back to park 1?

Hi there, Richard! Thank you for sending in your question to planDisney. I'm happy to help you plan your trip to The Happiest Place on Earth!

We get many questions from guests about purchasing Park Hopper tickets at Disneyland Resort. Because of the proximity, Park Hopping does not take much time since it is only a few steps across the Esplanade, but it can make a big difference in your day! When you buy your Park Hopper tickets, you'll make a park reservation for just the first park you plan to visit (at this time, a reservation is not required after the initial park). Pay attention to the icons on the theme park reservation calendar (the Castle icon for Disneyland Park or the Ferris wheel for Disney California Adventure Park). Beginning at 1:00 PM, you can move freely between the two parks as often as you like until closing (subject to that park's capacity limitations). Check the Know Before You Go page on the Disneyland website for the most up-to-date information.

I also have some advice if you plan to utilize Disney Genie+ in conjunction with Park Hopping. Your Tip Board will only show you one park at a time in the Disneyland Mobile app; simply tap "Change Park" to switch to the other park. I like to use Genie+ strategically by reserving attractions in my second park prior to hopping. This way, I may have several rides "stacked up" by the time I get there. When booking your Genie+ Lightning Lane return window for your next park, you must wait until that ride shows the first available time after 1 PM.

I hope this helps, Richard! Please feel free to write us back anytime!

I'm that mom who always has her ears perked at PTO meetings, in the grocery store aisle, or at my monthly Bunco club for an opportunity to give someone a planning tip to help make their vacation even more magical.
