    I understand you need a KTTW card or a Magicband for the parks. I live abroad so how can I get one of these before my planned trip and do I need them to get into the first park?

    Welcome to planDisney! I am so glad that you stopped by with your question. MagicBands, MagicBand+, and Key to the World Cards are excellent tools to use during your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Each of these options gives you access to your theme park tickets, the ability to charge purchases to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel room, and you can even open your door with ease. While you cannot have these vacation essentials shipped to your home in advance, I am happy to report that you have a variety of options available to you when you arrive, and there will be no delay in starting your magical adventure! 

    If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you can pick up a Key to the World Card at the front desk of your hotel after you arrive. It will be ready for use immediately. You can also purchase a variety of MagicBands and the new MagicBand+ option at most Walt Disney World Resort Collection hotel merchandise shops. You can link your new MagicBand to your My Disney Experience account in a few easy steps, and you will be ready to access the features in no time at all. 

    Should your accommodations not be at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, Hakuna Matata. You can still arrive at the parks ready to enjoy your day. Disney MagicMobile Service is a new feature in the My Disney Experience app that offers many of the same convenient benefits that you can enjoy with MagicBands and Key to the World Cards. Disney MagicMobile creates a digital pass for your theme park tickets, connects to your Disney PhotoPass pictures, and can even be used to access virtual queues that you have reserved. This option is available for Disney Resort hotel Guests too! You can also secure a Key to the World Card at the ticket windows outside any of the four theme parks and at the Disney Ticket Center in Town Center at Disney Springs. MagicBands and MagicBand+ options can be purchased at Disney Springs and throughout the theme parks after you arrive.
