Gerry! Welcome to planDisney!
I'm SO happy to be speaking with a massive fan and frequent Disney World attendee! I love Disney World, and I love that you love Disney World! I ALSO LOVE
ART OF ANIMATION! I feel like it is a massively underrated hotel at Disney. I love the Skyliner access. I love the rooms. I love the pool. I love the restaurant,
Landscape of Flavor (I especially love the Banana Bread with Streusel so please get some for me and enjoy it, Gerry).
A king bed at the end of a long theme park day is practically perfect in every way. It's great to spread out, stay cool, and get the beauty sleep you need before your next day of adventures! It used to be an option to select during your booking process, Gerry, but now you have to request the king size bed option, currently. Your very best bet is going to be to contact a
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations agent. This line is open daily from 7am to 11pm Eastern Time, Gerry. Make sure you have your reservation number on hand when you make this call. Let the Cast Member know your situation, be extra kind, and they will do their very best to meet your special request! (I would do this sooner, rather than later, to increase your chances of getting a king bed for your vacation!)
I also recommend double checking your king bed status at the
Front Desk upon your arrival. Again, like you said, nothing is guaranteed but calling before and touching base with the Front Desk upon arrival will be your two best chances of securing your requests.
I hope this trip is everything you've dreamed of and more, Gerry! If there is anything we can do to help you plan your trip further, we would love to hear from you again here at planDisney!
Have a great, big, beautiful tomorrow, friend.
