I understand that you can use the Genie app to select lightning access to an attraction. You can select two attractions at the beginning of the day. Is that correct?

    Hiya, Mitch!

I'm so glad you found us here at planDisney! We love helping Guests with planning details big and small. The Disney Genie Service at the Walt Disney World Resort can be a magical tool and like Belle, we've studied and studied to help Guests maximize their time at the parks. With your stay coming up in just a few short months, I'm happy to help you on this magic carpet ride with the Disney Genie and Disney Genie+!

It looks like you're interested in the Disney Genie+ service, the paid add-on to your tickets that allows you to reserve attractions to utilize the Lightning Lane entrance. All Guests can make their first attraction selection at 7 a.m. on the day of their park visit. You will be given the first available time slot for each attraction. You will be eligible to make your next selection after you scan into the first ride OR two hours after the park opens, whichever comes first. For example, if you made a selection at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad with a return time of 11:30 a.m., you can book your next ride selection two hours after the park opens that day. If your return time for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is 9:00 a.m., you can book your next ride selection as soon as you scan into the Lightning Lane for the wildest ride in the wilderness!

Mitch, if you would like to book two attractions at the beginning of your day, there is a way to do so, though it will require an additional purchase. There are a select few rides that are not available with the purchase of Disney Genie+. These are the higher-demand attractions in each park that tend to have the longest wait times. To utilize the Lightning Lane for these, you'll make an Individual Lightning Lane purchase to experience these attractions. If you're staying at a Disney Resort Hotel, you can make this purchase at 7 a.m. If you are staying off-property, you will be able to make this purchase at the time the park opens. It is possible to have an Individual Lightning Lane attraction booked first thing in the morning, along with your first Disney Genie+ ride selection.

A helpful tip for making the most of your Disney Genie+ purchase is to set an alarm for two hours after the time you made a selection. Sometimes, you can get swept away in all the excitement and forget that you are eligible to make another selection. The alarm serves as a nice little reminder to pick your next ride or experience!

Mitch, I know this is a lot of information, and I sure do hope it helps guide you in making Disney Genie+ selections during your stay. If you have any further questions, I'm happy to help! You can send a follow-up to me directly or ask any panelist, who'd be willing to jump on board and make the planning process a breeze!
