I understand those who are fully vaccinated are not currently required to wear masks inside the parks. What about young children who are not vaccine eligible at this time?

Hey there, hi there Sara Renee! Welcome to planDisney where you're always welcome as can be. I'm so glad you're hEAR, and we appreciate your patience as we assist all who are anxious to visit the Most Magical Place on Earth during this exciting year.

During the constantly evolving public health situation, it's more important than ever to follow official sites like the Disney Parks Blog for the most current information and protocols. At this time, face coverings are optional in most areas of the theme parks and resorts for Guests who are fully vaccinated; there are a few places, such as Disney transportation where ALL riders need to don a mask.

All visitors who have not yet been vaccinated must also continue to wear face masks in all indoor areas (unless actively eating or drinking) and onboard attractions. Since children under 12 are not yet eligible to receive a Covid-19 vaccine, they will need to continue to wear a face-covering in the above situations. I have two little Mouseketeers who aren't old enough to be vaccinated yet, so they'll be sporting their favorite shopDisney masks during our upcoming summer vacation.

I hope this helps as you prepare for your upcoming trip, Sara Renee. You'll be visiting just as Walt Disney World's 50th-anniversary celebration is getting underway. Be sure to follow the Disney Parks Blog and official social media accounts to stay up to date with all the excitement and new offerings. Thanks again for stopping by, and we can't wait to see ya real soon!
