I am understand that the first bus leaves the hotels (we are staying at Port Orleans French Quarter) about 45 minutes prior to the park opening, but is that 45 minutes prior to posted opening hours or is that 45 min prior to early entry for resort guests?

Hello and welcome to planDisney, Alexis. Thanks for dropping by with your question.

The early bird gets the worm and this couldn't be truer than at Walt Disney World in my opinion. I love getting to the Walt Disney World Theme Parks as early as possible. I am always so amazed at how much I can cross off of my must-do list before lunchtime!

Complimentary transportation to the Walt Disney World Theme Parks does start running anywhere from 45 minutes to one hour prior, Alexis. This is going to be from the earliest opening time. So you can expect transportation to be running at least 45 minutes prior to that early entry time for Walt Disney World Resort Hotel Guests.

I personally like to be at the bus stop area right an hour early because I want to make sure I am on that first bus over. This usually gives me plenty of time to go through security and scan into the theme park before the park is actually open. This was I can be heading to the first attraction of the day and queue up before it's technically running for Guests. Typically, a little pixie dust is sprinkled and some of the most attractions open up maybe 5-10 minutes early. I try to be there around this time just in case that happens because it really does just jump-start the day. By arriving this early Alexis, I am able to accomplish most of what I really want to do before the parks tend to start feeling crowded for the day. Once I feel like I am waiting in long lines I like to head back to the Walt Disney World Resort Hotel that I happen to be staying at for an afternoon swim. Then, around dinnertime, I clean up and head back to the parks to finish up anything I might have missed. It's a great way to spend a Disney day!

I hope this helps plan out your itinerary a little bit better, Alexis. If you have any other questions before your vacation, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help!

    Have fun!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
