I understand fast passes are no longer available. We are arriving Oct 20, have tickets and park reservations. How do I plan for rides? What's replaced fast passes?

Hello Courtney! Your visit to Mickey and Minnie is getting so close! It sounds like you are putting "check marks" in all of your planning boxes! Let's get another box checked by talking about planning for the rides!

Our plan is to always start our Disney park days early! This will continue to be our strategy while FastPass+ is temporarily unavailable. We find the earlier we arrive, the shorter the lines! Once the park opens we like to go directly to a "must do" attraction that we also know is popular and likely to have longer waits later in the morning and afternoon. For example, we love Peter Pan's Flight in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom Park! We also know it is a popular attraction. Our strategy is to head directly there at park opening time. We then remain in Fantasyland to experience the other very popular attractions that typically have longer waits later in the morning. This would include Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. While we love Mickey's Philharmagic and "it's a small world" we know the lines are typically shorter for these Fantasyland attractions so we will visit them later in the morning, afternoon, or evening. We continue this strategy throughout the morning.

Another tip is to remember that you can get into a line just before closing time. For example, Magic Kingdom Park is currently scheduled to close at 6:00PM on October 20th. If you are in line at 5:59PM, you are still permitted to ride the attraction even if that means the park will officially close at 6:00PM. This is why we always like to stay in the park until closing time.

Courtney, the earlier you arrive the more likely you are to experience shorter waits for the popular attractions. If your family doesn't like the idea of losing sleep, remind them that they can always head back to the resort later in the morning or in the afternoon to catch a nap before heading back to the same Disney Park you visited earlier in the day! This tried and true strategy has never failed us!
