I understand at Disneyland, you need to be scanned into the park to book your first Lightning Lane experience. Does the same hold true when you scan in to ride the monorail into Tomorrowland at Downtown Disney? Thank you as always for your help.

Hi there, Tom. Thanks for bringing another great question to planDisney!

I love using the Downtown Disney District Monorail station to enter Disneyland Park. Great news! When you scan your theme park ticket at that Disneyland Monorail station, you are officially scanning into the park for the day and may book your Lighting Lane. You must have a valid park reservation and theme park ticket to use this entrance. This is the most scenic way to enter Disneyland Park and a must-try experience!

Tom, during your visit, Holidays at the Disneyland Resort will have just begun. Be sure to enjoy "it's a small world" Holiday, A Christmas Fantasy Parade, and seasonal snacks. Find attraction wait times and the entertainment schedule in the Disneyland Mobile App during your visit. I love mobile ordering a treat using the app right before the parade begins to maximize the festive fun! Don't forget to follow the Disney Parks Blog for the most up-to-date offerings during your stay. Their seasonal Foodie Guides are a favorite of mine!

I hope this information helps, Tom. Please stop back by with any other questions!

    See ya real soon,
    Melissa
