Howdy, Steven! Welcome to planDisney!
It sounds like you’re getting ready to book a Walt Disney World vacation package. How exciting! I may be biased since I’m a planDisney panelist, but I find the vacation planning process almost as fun as the vacation itself (big emphasis on almost). I love weighing the pros and cons of different resort hotels, discussing our Lighting Lane options, and choosing where to eat. The combination of magical experiences is nearly endless!
Walt Disney World defines a vacation package as hotel reservations and theme park tickets purchased together, and they have their own policies regarding cancellations. If you’re purchasing a vacation package, then there is a $200 deposit (prices subject to change) when you make your reservation and the remaining balance is due 30 days before your trip. While theme park tickets purchased separate from a package are not refundable, that’s not the case with a vacation package. The deposit and anything else you’ve paid towards your vacation package is refundable 30 days or more before your arrival date.
Cancellations made between 2 and 29 days before your arrival date will be refunded minus a $200 cancellation fee (prices subject to change), while vacation packages canceled 1 day or less before arrival have to be paid in full. If you have any other questions regarding Walt Disney World cancellation policies, I would recommend
speaking with a Cast Member or reviewing the
Walt Disney World terms and conditions.
