Hi Florence, welcome to planDisney.
Hailing from the U.K., I'm used to thinking about exchange rates before our Disney adventures, and if you would like to lock in your rate pre-travel, there are 'borderless' bank accounts available that often offer spot-rate conversions. If you conduct an internet search, I'm sure you will find a fee-free account that won't charge for international transactions. We've found it super helpful when travelling.
When a Guest uses their
Disney Gift Card in the United States, the transaction amount will be converted from U.S. Dollars to Canadian Dollars. The currency conversion is based on the exchange rates applicable on the transaction date, and no fees are charged for the currency conversion. This converted amount is deducted from your Disney Gift Card balance, with the remaining balance continuing to be in Canadian Dollars.
For more information about how Canadian Disney Gift Cards work, I highly recommend looking into the
Canadian specific Terms & Conditions on the Disney Gift Card website.
Your Canadian Disney Gift Card can be used across Walt Disney World on anything from
snacks to
private photo opportunities! I wish you a very jolly time spending those Disney dollars!
Florence, please pop back if you need anything else ahead of your enchanting adventure to the Most Magical Place on Earth.
