Hi Chrystal,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question!
I have had many delicious cocktails in Walt Disney World Resort's lounges and bars, and the custom in those locations is indeed to tip a few dollars per drink. On our last visit, my husband and I snuck off to
AbracadaBar on Disney's BoardWalk, and we thought their cocktails were excellent (I recommend The Conjurita), as was the wonderful magic parlor theming.
At a Quick-Service location, such as any counter service dining location or the food kiosks around Epcot’s World Showcase, it's not customary to tip, even when ordering alcoholic beverages. If you encounter extraordinary service, it's fine to offer a tip, but it may be declined. One of my favorite ways to
thank magical Cast Members is by sending a Cast Compliment via Twitter. Tweet the Cast Member's name and details about your great service to @WDWToday using the hashtag #CastCompliment. If you don’t have Twitter, you can also visit any Guest Relations location to leave a compliment.
I hope you enjoy your beverages, Chrystal! Since Walt Disney World is Wild About Safety, I'm going to share my favorite tip when planning to have a few Disney drinks: be sure to hydrate. That Florida sun is very strong, and with all the walking and heat it's easy for a drink to go right to your head. I was in Epcot last summer, enjoying one of my favorite margaritas from the Mexico Pavilion, when all of a sudden I got extremely lightheaded. My husband steered me to a bench, and I downed some water while he fetched me some empanadas. Enjoy those delicious drinks, but be safe so you can enjoy every magical minute!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
