If I understand it correctly, if you will be taking the Magical Express from your resort back to the airport, you must leave 4 hours prior to your flight time. If you do not want to go quite that early, are you allowed to take the bus at a later time?

    Hi Jan!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Disney's Magical Express is my favorite method of transportation between Orlando International Airport and Walt Disney World Resort. It makes transportation so easy since you can sit back and relax during your trip! Generally, Disney's Magical Express will pick you up approximately four hours prior to your flight's departure. I have taken Disney's Magical Express several times and I have found that four hours is really necessary to allow for stops at other Disney Resort hotels, transportation to the airport and plenty of time for the security lines. In my experience, the security line at Orlando International Airport is significantly longer than other airports I travel through and the Disney's Magical Express pickup times provide you sufficient time to get through that security line.

Unfortunately, if you would like to use Disney's Magical Express, there are no options for later departure times. You will receive your exact departure time the evening before your check-out. If you would like to depart for the airport later, you do have the option to use a taxi or other car service. If you choose to do that, I still recommend that you allow for an hour to travel between Walt Disney World Resort and Orlando International Airport and an additional hour for the security line, in addition to the time you will need to get through the airport.

Please let us know if you have any other questions as you continue planning your trip. T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
