From what I understand, you can't book a park reservation before actually having valid tickets for the day you plan to attend. With the parks (planning to) open on April 30, does that mean purchasing the tickets then, followed by making my reservation?

    Hi Jared,

Thank you for taking the time to send your question to us here at planDisney.  I was so excited to hear the news of Disneyland Resort reopening on April 30, 2021 and just like you I am waiting for more details to be released.

With the reopening announcement, we have also been made aware that there will be a Theme Park Reservation System in place to better manage capacity and to allow for physical distancing.  We are still waiting for details to be released as to what the reservation system will look like at Disneyland Resort, but I imagine that it will be similar to the Disney Park Pass system that is currently in place at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.  I have used the system twice and it was simple.  Once I had purchased my Theme Park Tickets and they were linked to my account I was able to select the date I would like to visit, then select my party and Theme Park, all at once.  The Disney Park Pass system at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida also has an availability calendar for guests to check for availability prior to purchasing theme park tickets.

I hope that more information will be released soon for more clarification of the new Theme Park Reservation System, Jared.  Until then, I recommend keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog as well as the official Disneyland Resort website, as new information will be released there first.  After details are released, please feel free to come back to planDisney with any other questions you may have.
