I understand you can book a character dining experience at various restaurants on and off site. Are there specific characters assigned to each restaurant or is it luck of the draw?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Poppy!

A great Character Dining experience really is one of the best parts of any trip to Walt Disney World Resort. You're right, and there certainly are a wide variety of different Disney Characters you can meet at restaurants both inside the theme parks and at Walt Disney World Resort Hotels. Although appearances are subject to change, there are certain Disney Characters that you can expect to find at each location and I'm happy to walk you through a few of them so you can make the right choice for your family.

The classic Disney Character Dining experience has to be dining with the Mickey Mouse himself, and you can catch him greeting guests at places like Chef Mickey's, Tusker House Restaurant, and 'Ohana at breakfast time. Make sure you check out the individual pages for these restaurants because other characters appear with him at each different restaurant, so if you also want to see Minnie Mouse, you should consider booking Hollywood & Vine for dinner, or if you love Chip 'N' Dale as much as my family does, maybe consider a meal at Garden Grill Restaurant! If you have a little princess in your family, you'll want to dine with the Disney Princesses at Cinderella's Royal Table or Akershus Royal Banquet Hall. At the Bon Voyage Breakfast at Trattoria Al Forno, you even have a chance to meet a few of their princes as well! Finally, some restaurants feature Disney Characters that don't appear at other dining locations, like Mary Poppins at the Supercalifragilistic Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, so make sure to take a look at the different Character Dining experiences available so you don't miss out on anyone that you want to see. These restaurants are incredibly popular with guests, so making reservations as soon as you can, up to 180 days in advance of your arrival, is highly recommended.

    Have a magical day, Poppy!
