I understand there are bike racks just outside of security at Disneyland, but can you take ebike batteries through security and lock them in a locker? Thank you!

    Hiya, Scott!

Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for sending this Disneyland Resort vacation planning question our way!

Oh Boy! I think a battery-powered bike is a swell form of transportation, especially after a long Disney day filled with lots of walking. I just double-checked the Disneyland Resort Rules page as well as the Prohibited Items list and could not find anything directly mentioning e-batteries or even hinting around at them. However, Security Cast Members are given the authority to decide on the spot about any unlisted items they find that could be deemed questionable. I once left a bike lock in a forgotten pocket of our jogging stroller that was meant for our walks around town, not The Happiest Place on Earth; while there is nothing listed about bike locks either way, because of the possibility that it could be used for locking my stroller to something within the Kingdom, I was given the option to either return it to my vehicle or I could surrender it to security and would not get it back.

While I think that you'd be fine going through security with an e-bike battery to store in a Locker Rental, it's always good to have a backup plan just in case. My best tip would be to try to park your bike on the west side of the resort and go through security on the Downtown Disney District end. While there should be a bike rack near the security entrance by the Star Wars Trading Post, if you have any issues with your bike or your batteries, you could always check them at the Luggage/Bell Services desk of any of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels. (The Disneyland Hotel is the closest to this security area, but the other two aren't that far away.)
