Jeff from CA Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I understand that an annual pass starts when activated. Do I have to wait until activated to make fastpass reservations? My reservation allows me to select fastpasses 60 days in advance. If I do so have I just activated my new annual pass?

Hello Jeff, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with a great planning question.

Welcome to the wonderful world of being a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder! There is no better feeling than knowing that you can walk into any theme park at Walt Disney World every single day of the year.

If you are a guest with a reservation at a select Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, with your new annual pass linked to your My Disney Experience account, you can select FastPass+ experiences 60 days before your arrival for the entire length of your trip, up to 14 days. Just like any other valid theme park admission, your annual pass will be activated with your first visit to any Walt Disney World Theme Park. You will enjoy 365 days of magical experiences.

You will have a number of special offers and passholder extras that are available to you. Some of them may require your pass to be active before you can use them. Keep in mind that benefits can be subject to change. One of my favorite extras is the use of a Memory Maker during the entire length of my annual pass. So smile, look at the camera and say cheese, because every photo you take during your trip will be uploaded to your account. You will be entitled to free downloads of all of your photos too. If you have any more questions before you arrive, please come back and visit us again.

    See ya real soon,
