We are undecided about when to come. Do you think it is best to come during the last week/first week of May/June or September or October? Our kids get out of school May 26 so they wouldn't miss any days. Just wonder about the crowds during this time.

    Heigh-Ho Mary!

I have visited the Walt Disney World Resort during all those months with my family, and my favorite is October. I am a huge Halloween fan, and Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is the best! I could watch Mickey's Boo-to-You Parade and HalloWishes every night. I also enjoy the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival accompanied by the Eat to the Beat concert series. The weather is hot enough for swimming, but not so humid where I am sweating the minute I walk out of the hotel door. Crowds are manageable, but I did notice an increase in crowds when my family went the beginning of October this year.

In September the crowds are definitely lower, but it is hot. Very hot. However the low crowds and lower prices are a great appeal for many. You can usually find great promotions during the month of September for Walt Disney World Resort hotels. You can also catch the beginning of the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival and Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at the end of the month.

We found the crowds very manageable at the beginning of June this year. Some parts of the country are out of school while others are not, so you don't get all of the summer crowds yet. It was also my family's first time experiencing Star Wars Weekends. My kids had a blast! They were able to meet Jedi Mickey, dress up like Princess Leia, try Star Wars-themed treats, and see an amazing new fireworks show in Disney's Hollywood Studios. And you get the bonus of not having to take your children out of school.

I suggest choosing the events that interest your family most. From my experience, crowds at the beginning of June are comparable to crowds in October, with September crowds being the lowest. Good luck with your decision. My family has had a marvelous time every vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort. Just ask my kids. The smiles on their faces when you mention the word "Disney" will tell you.

    Have a magical vacation!
