    Hello! My uncle has a time share at the bay lake towers and is going to let my husband and I use it next october. My question is are we allowed to go to the balcony area and watch the fireworks? I wasn't sure since it wasn't "our" timeshare....

    Hi Caitlin,

    You are going to love staying at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort!  It is so convenient to be able to walk or take the monorail to the Magic Kingdom.  The views from this spectacular new resort are extraordinary.

    Bay Lake Tower, as you know, is owned and operated by the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) and the Top of the World Lounge (open nightly from 6 pm to midnight) is reserved for DVC members.  However, it doesn't hurt to ask the Cast Member in the lobby of Bay Lake Tower if you may access the lounge. (Be sure to let him or her know that you are staying on your uncle's DVC points).  My parents stayed at Bay Lake Tower as guests using my DVC points and the kind Cast Member working in the lobby permitted them to access the lounge one evening.  I don't think that is standard policy so you shouldn't plan to have access to the lounge and fireworks viewing area but it certainly wouldn't hurt to ask while you are there.

    May I suggest another, similarly spectacular place from which you can view the Wishes Nighttime Spectacular?  Take the monorail over to Disney's Polynesian Resort and then find a cozy hammock or some beach chairs at the back of the resort along the Seven Seas Lagoon.  You won't find a more romantic spot from which you can view the fireworks and Electrical Water Pageant.
