If I am unable to visit the parks during a year, can I transfer an annual pass to another family member that is listed in my 'friends & family' on my Disney account?

Hi, Alecea! Thanks for stopping by with another question for your pals here at planDisney!

I love being a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder. You get so much flexibility for planning your visits to the theme parks, and there are tons of other benefits, too! Plus, with The World's Most Magical Celebration going on into 2022 and beyond, this is a great time to be a member of the Annual Passholder family.

You should be able to reassign a Walt Disney World Annual Pass as long as it remains completely unused. Once a Guest has used the pass to enter a theme park the first time, that pass is activated for that Guest only and cannot be reassigned. If you find you're just not able to take advantage of your pass and would like to assign it to another Guest, you can do it right in your My Disney Experience account:

     - Make sure your Annual Pass is linked to your account.
     - Go to the Walt Disney World home page and click on the "My Disney Experience" logo in the menu bar (you'll need to sign in to your account).
     - Scroll down to "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets," then click on the "Tickets & Memory Maker" tab just below that.
     - Find the Annual Pass you'd like to change, and click on the "Reassign Ticket" drop down menu.
     - Select a name from the list, or click on "Add a Guest" if the name doesn't appear.
     - Confirm your selection, and you're done!

The Annual Pass should now appear under the new Guest's name, and will be activated once that Guest first uses it. At that point, the pass will be permanently assigned and can't be transferred back to the original owner.

Whether you keep it for yourself or share it with someone else, I hope your Annual Pass provides lots of magical Disney days, Alecea! Thanks again for coming to see us, and please stop by again if you have any more questions!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

    Kathy K.

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
