I am unable to run and have issues walking. I ride a recumbent bicycle. Can I enter the 5k run using my recumbent bike? Thank you for your time.

    Hi Bill! Welcome to planDisney!

I am so happy to see we have a common interest in runDisney where "Every Mile is Magic!" There is nothing quite like running through the Magic of Walt Disney World Resort. Historically, runDisney 5K events do not carry a pace requirement. In my experience, those races are very family-friendly and people have the very best costumes for shorter distances. I absolutely love the vibe of 5K mornings.

During registration, for athletes with disabilities, you will be prompted to answer yes if you will be participating in the push rim wheelchair division, handcycle exhibition, duo division or need to request special accommodations. I personally have never seen a recumbent bike on the course.

If participating in these divisions is an issue, I do have a suggestion to dip those running shoes into runDisney waters! Why not try out the runDisney Virtual Series. You have the luxury of completing your goal on your own time while being rewarded with those amazing runDisney medals delivered to your home.

I sure hope I have provided some answers and alternatives enabling you to pursue all your goals. Here is a runDisney playlist to keep you training in the Magic!

Remember, a 14-minute mile is the same distance as a six-minute mile,
    Cindy
