Hey There, Joel!
I'm glad you've found your way to planDisney. Doesn't one of EPCOT's newest dining spots,
Space 220 Restaurant, look
so cool?! I was bummed that I didn't get a chance to try it during my most recent Walt Disney World Resort visit, but it's definitely at the top of my list for next time. I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble securing a trip to space during your upcoming visit, but I'm happy to offer a few suggestions to help you make it happen.
When it comes to
advance dining reservations, the most important thing to remember is that availability changes all the time, even for Walt Disney World's most popular restaurants. For that reason, the best thing you can do is keep checking for reservations until you find what you need. If the reservation of your dreams hasn't popped up before then, I recommend keeping your eyes extra sharp during the 72-24 hours before you plan to dine. Because reservations must be canceled 24 hours in advance to avoid a fee, many people hold on to them as long as possible before releasing them at the deadline. Lately, many of my fellow Panelists and I have had great luck scoring hard-to-get dining reservations by checking for last-minute cancelations.
If you haven't been able to snag a table before you arrive, you can also join the walk-up list once you enter the park. And if you're interested in the full Space 220 experience with a slightly lighter menu, be sure to ask the host stand about the wait times for
Space 220 Lounge, as well (reservations for the lounge can also be made online). With a smaller menu, you may find the tables turn over a little quicker, allowing the lounge to accommodate more people. Currently, both Space 220 Restaurant and Lounge open daily to Guests beginning at 11:30 AM, but since it's not unusual to find a queue for the walk-up line forming early (especially during busy seasons), I suggest getting in line before that time for the best chance of grabbing a table.
Thanks for visiting planDisney with your question, Joel. No matter where you choose to dine, I hope your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort is out of this world!
See Ya Real Soon,
Amy
