I am unable to make my reservation because I am not feeling well. Since we were going for a friends birthday we don’t intend to use them in the future. Its a one day ticket that hasn’t been used. What’s the process to allow a friend to use them?

Hi there, Monica! I'm so sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well and won't be able to make it to the Disneyland Resort. I'm happy to help walk you through a few options for what can be done with your ticket.

First and foremost, each theme park ticket contains its very own bit of magic that never fully runs out. Single-day tickets purchased this year are valid through December 30, 2023, and even after this date, the value can be put towards the purchase of a new ticket. I know you mentioned that you do not have plans to go in the future, but just a little something to keep in mind. For me, knowing there is some time at the Happiest Place on Earth on the horizon can help get me through some cloudy days!

If you'd like to give the ticket to a friend, this should not be an issue. Tickets are not technically assigned until they are scanned at the Main Entrance Gate. At this point, a Cast Member will take a photo of the ticket holder and the ticket will be non-transferable. When you purchased your ticket, you should have received an email confirmation with a link to "Access Your eTickets". From here, you can actually print out a hard copy of the ticket which will include a barcode that your friend can scan at the Main Entrance Gate. There is also the option for them to link the ticket to their Disneyland Mobile App and scan directly from there. In that same email you received, there will be a "Ticket Confirmation Number". Have them open the app and tap on the three-bar menu in the bottom right-hand corner. Click on "Tickets & Passes" and the "+" in the top right-hand corner. Choose "Link Tickets & Passes" and they should be able to manually enter the Ticket Confirmation Number. Once the ticket is linked, they will be able to access it from their own account to scan at the gate. Be sure to remind your friend that if they choose to visit on a different day than originally intended, they will also need a corresponding theme park reservation

Monica, I sure hope this was helpful and that you feel better very soon! If you or your friends have any more questions, please feel free to come back to see us here at planDisney

    Never stop dreaming,
