I am unable to purchase Genie plus for our trip next weekend. I have tried on the app and the website. What do I do?

Hi Rachel! Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with your question!

Disney Genie+ has been a welcome addition to the Walt Disney World Resort! Being able to maximize your time spent on other experiences instead of waiting in long lines has been a nice change of pace. My family enjoyed the slower pace we were able to take on our recent trip knowing that we had arrival windows for certain attractions constantly being made. We took advantage of grabbing some of our favorite Disney snacks and took time to watch the cavalcades as they passed by.

First things first, you will want to check what type of ticket you have. If you purchased a single-day ticket, then you can not add Disney Genie+ until the day of your park visit. This would explain why you are having trouble now. To add Genie+ the morning of your park day, log in to the My Disney Experience App and tap on the three horizontal bars on the bottom right of the screen. Select “My Genie Day” and you will see a purple bar that reads “Get Disney Genie+ for Today”. Tap on that and follow the directions to add the service. Make sure to complete this before 7 AM EST so you are ready to make your first selection at that time!

If you purchased a multi-day ticket, you should be able to add Disney Genie+ before you arrive onsite. Keep in mind, you will need to purchase for the entire length of your ticket. To do so on the website, click on “My Disney Experience” and sign in to your account. Once signed in, click on “My Plans” and then “Park Tickets”. There should be an option to change tickets and from there, you can modify and add them to the service. On the mobile App, tap on the three horizontal bars on the bottom right of the screen and then tap on “Tickets and Passes”. Your tickets for each Guest should be shown with a “Change Ticket” option. Tap on that and follow the prompts to add on the service.

If you have already followed these steps and are still having trouble, you can always call the Existing Ticket line and speak to a Cast Member for assistance. They will be able to access your account and troubleshoot to see what the issue may be.

Rachel, once you have this piece of the puzzle squared away, I’m sure you have everything else ready to go for your upcoming stay. I hope you have a magical visit!

    See ya real soon!
