Hi, Maileen! Welcome to planDisney!
As our friend Pooh would say "Oh, bother!" I'm so sorry your Walt Disney World Resort plans may need to be put on hold for a while. Let's keep wishing on a star that everything works out and you can take that magical vacation as planned!
But if you need to push things back a bit, you do have some flexibility depending on what kind of reservation you're talking about. If you've purchased a vacation package,
you can usually cancel up to 30 days in advance without penalty, but cancellations made later than that will incur charges. Your best bet would be to
speak to a Cast Member in Guest Relations to see what your options are if you need to cancel a vacation package.
On the other hand, if you only need to cancel
Disney Park Pass theme park reservations, you can absolutely do that at any time right up until the day of your reservation. Just hop into your
My Disney Experience account, go to the "My Plans" page, locate your reservation, and press "Cancel." Super easy!
Your
tickets will expire a certain number of days after the original start date if you don't use or modify them. If you already know when you'll be visiting in the future, you may be able to change the dates on your tickets right in your account. If you're unable to change them, no worries! You should still be able to apply the value of your current tickets to new tickets for your next visit. It will just take a chat with a Guest Relations Cast Member when you're ready to reschedule.
Maileen, I hope this helps set your mind at ease if you do need to change your vacation dates. Whenever you end up visiting, just know the magic will always be there waiting for you!
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
