Greetings, Karen, and thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
Though it’s typically sunny here in Southern California, we have been experiencing some rainy days recently, so this is a great question. For starters, yes, umbrellas are allowed inside the Disneyland Resort theme parks. You can choose to bring your own, or purchase one inside the parks. Adult and child-size ponchos and umbrellas can typically be found year-round at Rushin’ River Outfitters, located inside Disney California Adventure Park, near Grizzly River Run. On rainy days, most of the stores along Buena Vista Street and Main Street, U.S.A. will also offer ponchos and umbrellas for your convenience.
The weather forecast can change quickly in Orange County, so if you plan on packing layers, I recommend
renting a locker so you don’t have to carry your extra clothing all day long. Also, stay tuned to the
Disneyland app to navigate any closed attractions, or find Characters that may have been moved due to the rain.
Some of my favorite attractions on rainy days include visiting the
Star Wars Launch Bay and The Disneyland Story presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, both in Disneyland Park. Over at Disney California Adventure Park, I love the engaging experiences offered at the Disney Animation Building, such as Sorcerer’s Workshop,
Animation Academy, and Turtle Talk with Crush.
Rain or shine, I wish you a magical getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth!
