Hi Ellen, and welcome to planDisney. Your status as a veteran of the UK Royal Marines may entitle you to some discounts at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, and I'm happy to help you determine what savings you qualify for. Let's dive in and see if we can save you some hard earned dollars!
I took a peek at the Frequently Asked Questions on the UK version of the Disney World site and saw an answer that
provided some information about the Blue Light Card and the Defence Discount Service. It seems as though the latter is the official Ministry of Defence discount provider for visits to Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris, and sailings aboard Disney Cruise Line. I would review this FAQ response and follow up with those vendors to see what discounts you may qualify for based on your veteran status.
For additional savings opportunities, you can
sign up to receive offers right to your inbox! This might be a good option as seasonal or limited time offers come around, and you would likely be one of the first to know via an email blast. I subscribe to offers available to me here in the United States, and I am always tempted to take advantage of some of the great savings that Disney World advertises.
I also noticed that there are some good offers for
travel this summer, including free nights at Disney Resort hotels, discounted tickets, and a free
Memory Maker entitlement. Not planning to travel until 2027? Explore the current offer for
free dining and drinks next year!
I hope you'll be able to find some savings based on your veteran status, Ellen! Be sure to check out offers that are available to all guests as well, as you may be able to cobble together some solid savings. Come visit us again at planDisney for more vacation planning tips and advice.
Stay magical,
Scott
