Hello there, Lorraine! Welcome to
planDisney, and thank you so much for sending us your thoughtful question. I can already tell how much planning you’re putting into this magical holiday, and it makes me so happy to help you sort out the details!
When it comes to tickets, offers, and discounts, the
UK-exclusive tickets (like the Magic Ticket) are only available to residents of the United Kingdom and Ireland. They’re a wonderful option, with great value and flexibility, but they’re restricted based on residency. This means that while you, as a UK resident, are eligible to purchase and use them, your wife and her family from Canada, unfortunately, wouldn’t be able to purchase or use those same tickets.
I know that may not be the news you were hoping for, but the good news is that there are plenty of other ticket options available for Guests booking from outside the UK, including Canadians. They’ll be able to purchase tickets through the
official Walt Disney World website for their region, or by working with an authorized Disney travel agent. These options may look a little different than the UK offers, but they still unlock all of the Disney magic!
My best advice is to go ahead and purchase UK Magic Tickets for yourself, while your wife and her parents secure their tickets through the Canadian landing page. That way, once everyone’s tickets are linked to My Disney Experience, you’ll all be able to plan and play together seamlessly, whether that’s reserving dining, making Lightning Lane selections, or simply entering the parks side by side.
Lorraine, I hope this helps make things a little clearer as you continue planning your magical trip. If you have any more questions about linking tickets, using the My Disney Experience app, or coordinating with family members across different regions, I’m always here and so happy to help!
Warm hugs,
Ana Paula
