Hi Joanne, welcome to planDisney!
As your cruise countdown decreases, I'm sure your excitement is increasing exponentially! Adding a day at a
Walt Disney World Resort theme park (or two) would be a magical cherry on top of your vacation sundae. There's a lot to celebrate during the
50th Anniversary Celebration, including the opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT and two new nighttime spectaculars: Disney Enchantment at Magic Kingdom Park and Harmonious at EPCOT.
At this time, UK-based Guests can purchase 7 or 14-day tickets through the Walt Disney Travel Company. These tickets offer an unbeatable value for money, though two sizes do not necessarily fit all when it comes to Disney vacations. One-day tickets can be purchased on
Disneyworld.disney.go.com, which means you have a couple of options.
One option is to purchase your theme park ticket as soon as you land in the United States and can access the site. There is risk involved with this option as valid admission and a
theme park reservation are required for park entry. The
theme park reservation availability calendar currently shows that all parks are available for the last two weeks in July, but that availability cannot be guaranteed if you purchase at a later date.
Another option is to enlist the help of a United States-based buddy that can purchase a one-day ticket on your behalf and link it to your
My Disney Experience account. To do this, you first need to be connected as
Family and Friends. During the linking step of the purchase process, your Disney sidekick can then select your name from a dropdown list.
For both ticket purchase options, you should make your theme park reservation
online as soon as the ticket is linked to your My Disney Experience account.
I hope you have smooth sailing in the air, on land, and by sea, Joanne. Let planDisney know if you need help navigating any other uncharted territory. We're hEAR to help!
Choose magic,
Jennifer
