Hi Rosemary! Welcome to planDisney!
I'm happy to hear that you're planning a return trip to
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge next year. My family felt the same way after our first stay at this magnificent resort, and we've been back on numerous occasions since. While it has all the classic amenities that you come to love in Disney Resorts hotels, nothing will beat having animals roaming the savanna outside of your resort room. It's truly a one-of-a-kind experience.
At this time, there has not been an official announcement regarding refurbishments at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Typically, there will be information posted on the Walt Disney World website warning Guests that work is underway or an article on the
Disney Parks Blog regarding any upcoming plans. I do suggest checking back to each website periodically to check on updates if this is a concern of yours when booking your next stay. I have stayed at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa a couple of years ago when it was undergoing a major refurbishment. While it was noticeable in certain areas during our stay, the Cast Members did a great job of containing the specific area they are working in and not having it affect you all that much. If a refurbishment is announced when you plan to visit in 2026, I wouldn't let it deter you from staying where you prefer.
I hope you were able to enjoy some of the wonderful dining options at Animal Kingdom Lodge on your last stay. Between
Jiko - The Cooking Place, Boma - Flavors of Africa, and Sanaa (located at Kidani Village), there is no shortage of delicious and authentic dining at this resort. Each location brings a slightly different experience and menu offerings that make them a unique option.
Rosemary, I hope you have a magical time planning for your holiday next year!
Stop back and see us any time at planDisney with any questions that come your way.
Happy planning!
